Microsoft in list of top 20 Linux kernel contributors

Thống kê tới tháng 4 năm 2012 cho thất, Microsoft là 1 trong 20 đối
tượng (công ty) có đóng góp tích cực vào Linux kernel.
Có lẽ Steve Ballmer đã hiểu ra bệnh.

Tiếp theo trong danh sách là Red Hat, Novell và IBM.

Ubuntu không có tên trong danh sách này.

Mô hình phát triển mở của Linux lôi kéo được nhiều người tham nhưng
nhưng vẫn có một rủi ro tiềm tàng:
Đối thủ cạnh tranh sẽ chiếm số lớn, tạo ảnh hưởng trong dự án mở (dân
chủ) dạng này và kiểm soát nó.
Tuy nhiên, có lẽ không không phải lo lắng nhiều vì với FOSS, do tính
mở, fork luôn là một giải pháp khi không đi đến sự đồng thuận.
